Stanford

Dr. Bravo just called.

He is going to send us to Stanford for Parker's MRI and surgery. He said that since they couldn't find his testes during the ultrasound, they might have gone up into his abdomen, making the surgery a little more complicated. :(

So he said he feels more comfortable sending him to a place where they specialize in this sort of thing, rather than doing it locally just for convenience. This scares me and makes me feel comforted at the same time. It scares me that the word "complicated" was thrown in there, but also comforts me that some of the best surgeons will be working on him.

I didn't think this would hit me so hard, but it has. It just keeps giving me flashbacks of when Parker was a newborn, and we just never knew what was going on, and always feared the worst. I don't think that a mother should ever have to worry like this, but I guess that's what being a mother is. I love my little guy with all my heart.

Please keep Parker in your prayers. It would mean the world to us.

Ultrasound

was inconclusive... they couldn't find his testes because they were hiding somewhere, so now he will most likely have to have an MRI. We are still waiting to hear back from Dr. Bravo. So we will keep you updated!
I keep praying that they will just come in on their own and all of this can go away.

9 Month Appointment

Parker had his 9 month appointment today (at almost 10 months!).
He had a couple of shots, and had to get his toe pricked so they can check to make sure that he is getting enough iron.

Stats from today:
22 lbs 12 oz (90th percentile)
30 1/2 inches long (95th percentile)

Parker is amazingly healthy, and we are so blessed with our little "miracle baby" as Dr. Bravo calls him :) Although, we did have to talk about his surgery. Parker still has undescended testicles (they are there, just not all the way down). So he has to have an ultrasound tomorrow to see where they are. Then we will get referred to a Urologist, and then talk about/schedule his surgery. Dr. Bravo says that it is a pretty simple surgery, and he should get to go home with us the same day. He definitely will need this done by his 1st birthday, so it will be within the next couple of months. I know it is a routine surgery, but we still worry. He is our little angel baby, and we just want everything to be okay and have him home with us.

Good news though... we *think* his hernia might be gone, so that's one less thing he will have to have surgery on! We will most likely know for sure in a few days, but it's one less thing to worry about.

Please keep Parker and our family in your prayers. :)

Make that 5 teeth

Little buddy cut another tooth last night! So that makes:
2 on the bottom
his 2 front top teeth
and one on the side of his top teeth

This boy is going to have a mouthful of them soon!

Avila Valley Barn

Momma wanted some fresh apples today, so we all went to the Avila Valley Barn simply because they have THE BEST apples! Parker got to play with some of the animals (the huge brown cow made him cry. Can't blame him though, it was kind of scary up close). We loved this little goat, it was adorable.

Oh, and I forgot to add that Parker somehow got chocolate all over his butt without us knowing... and it got all over mommy and daddy's clothes (both on our right hips where we carry him)! We looked fabulous :)

Our little climbing man

All about the details

Looking at the billy goats

Happy baby! Look closely and you can see his top 2 teeth!

Momma + Dadda = Parkie

Parker is finally starting to look like me... according to the poll! PHEW. I was starting to think I didn't have my stamp on him like Garrett does (as Papaw likes to say :) ). He's always had my eyes, but people have been telling me a lot lately that he is starting to look more like me than ever before. This makes me happy since I did give birth to him. Oh man, how many times am I going to use that line against him??

I'm glad Park is a good combo of the two of us. I can look at him and see myself. But at the same time I look at him and see his wonderful daddy. (And I mean wonderful. Side note: he brought my mom and me flowers today, just because :) Sweet boy!)

We are going to take him out tomorrow and try to get some cute pictures. Who am I kidding? If Parker is in them, they are always cute!

9 is the magic number

I can't believe how much Parker has changed this month! It just seems like all of sudden, things clicked.

His new tricks:

Real crawling instead of the army crawl
Said his first word
Eating amazingly (loves fruit now)
Can climb over any obstacle you give him
Gives hugs and kisses (melts our hearts)
Can go "yaaaaaaaay" if someone does it first
Mimics everything
He is on a pretty decent schedule
Cruises on the furniture
Sleeps through the night!!!! Never thought that one would happen.
Steals our hearts... oh wait, he has always done that.

Parker's first word was...

BABY!

Well, more like "beebee" in a little soft whisper. Garrett, Parker and I were laying in bed on Saturday morning and I kept calling him my baby. He looks at us and says "beebee" 3 or 4 times. And Sunday, repeated it again.
I call him my sugar baby all the time, so this must be what he picked up on.
I am going to burst from all this cuteness! I just can't even handle it anymore. My little love bug is becoming a little boy!
A little over half of you voted for "Baby", so good job (even though I told most of you!!) :)

Big boy bath

Parker now gets to bathe in the normal bath tub. He LOVES it. He splashes, stands, and tries to swim. We put a color tablet in his bath to make it bright blue tonight. I know Parker can't really enjoy it yet, but mommy and daddy do :)

*warning: naked baby booty* (a cute one, too)

Comments and Poll

Hey guys! I just wanted to let everyone know that you can leave comments on any post (even if you don't have a blogger account) by clicking on the "0 comments" at the bottom of each post, and then it will let you leave a comment. I know there are a lot of you who come on, but never leave comments. But it makes us happy when you do :)

And I added a poll on here for you all to guess what Parker's first word was. He said his first word today... and it is the sweetest sound in the world!

9 Months

My baby is 9 months already (actually, almost 9 1/2)! I can't even believe how fast the time goes. He has officially been out in this world longer than he was in my belly. My baby is getting so big. He is trying to stand alone, and he cruises around the furniture. We will definitely have a walker on our hands very soon.

Sweet Eater

How cute is this bashful little angel? His new thing while he's in his high chair is to put his head on his shoulder and give you the sweetest look you could ever ask for. We all "ooh and aww" over it, so he knows he's cute and then he keeps doing it.
Add this to the long list of reasons I love this boy.

Shoo Fly, Don't Bother Me

We thought this was cool. A fly landed on Parker's finger, and he was just so still. He just looked at the fly until it flew away. Randomly, we had the camera out.

Wii!!!!

All I have to say is it is AMAZING. It is so much fun! Parker and I woke up on Sunday morning to find this waiting for us. It was like Christmas :)
Garrett and I have been having so much fun playing games, doing yoga and hula hooping... and you don't even realize you are working out. I have been sore every day, and already feel more toned.
Oh, and now my mom wants one... haha! We play tennis together and hit each other on accident, which obviously leads to us cracking up and her falling over on the bed.

New tooth! **UPDATE**

No picture YET... but Parker cut his third tooth last night! So now he has his two bottom teeth, and one of his top teeth. He has three more up top that are ready to come in. My baby is looking more and more like a little boy!

I am just updating this to say that he now has 4 teeth! I just checked, and he has his 2 top left teeth. 2 teeth in 2 days. Work it, Parks!

Parker's First Fair (outside of mommy's tummy)

Parker last year at the fair (in my belly)

Parker this year at the fair... what a difference a year makes!

We had so much fun together! Parker got to see sheep, cows and rabbits. He loved watching the animals, and just people watching (that's what the fair is for, right?!). He was pooped by the end of the night...
